Nuits sonores

Nuits sonores is a music festival organized by the city of Lyon. I designed this series of posters for a hypothetical edition of the festival featuring Brazilian artists and electro music.

Given the theme of the festival, I decided to create a rhythmic and graphic writing system. Thus, each triangle has the value of an eighth note. This simple system makes it possible to visually translate rhythms and to create infinite variations on the same principle. Then I chose to represent batucada rhythms as a homage to Brazilian music and to use the triangle for its percussive and dynamic aspect.

The simplicity of this system would allow the development of an interactif device where anyone could produce a rhythm and see it appear to form a new personalized poster.
